Okay, update on the living sitch. I came back from court today, we got a stay of execution on the eviction. We've got until January 31st. A bunch of new places have gone on the market, and we're hoping one of them works out. It's not a great time to move, unfortunately, with the places we've seen, There's been a bit of competition. But, emotionally I'm quite a bit better... for now, anyway. Once this is over, I'll be a lot more relaxed. If you live on Long Island, NY, and you know a place that's under $2000 a month and accepts pets, please let me know!

Gevallia? Is she also a holdover from that earlier comic? :)

I like her hair, by the way....

Good news on the housing. Is there any way to find someplace closer to work, or is it a case of the closer you get, the higher the rent?

She is! An appearance! I did change up her design slightly.

Not so much, but neither I or my Mom drive, but I have a bike, so I'm trying to be considerate of her commute. If I have to, I can transfer to another store, while she works for a church school.

I' to unpack your next to last sentence. I get that neither of you drive, but when it comes to your bike and her commute, I just can't rid my mind of the picture I got of you pedaling along happily with her perched in the basket over the front wheel.

Please help straighten me out before I giggle myself to death. XD

Oh my god, that would make my life so much easier.
I can ride to my job, which is further, (8.5 miles) but her job, while closer, (1 mile) is more difficult for her to get to... any farther, and she has a very difficult time getting to work, due to rheumatism. Public Transportation isn't very reliable around here, and the closest bus stop is at her workplace.

Hmm. Are you in a town, village, or other municipality, or in the county? Is there any disabled or limited-mobility program she might fall under? It might not hurt to ask around, since some of them don't really advertise. Senior citizen centers are a good place to start since so many of their members fall into those categories.

Hey, it's worth a shot, right. :)

Oh, and if she won't do it, ask if any of the church members could help. It might embarrass her, but it might also touch someone who wants to feel needed.

She's asked, some have been able to give her rides, but quite a few people are having a rough time themselves...

From what we've looked into, she doesn't qualify for any local programs... it's tough, because most of them have huge waiting lists.
